Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, optimize, and characterize robust human 3D organoid/spheroid models, including multicellular co-culture systems, for disease modelling and therapeutic efficacy applications spanning metabolic, fibrotic, inflammatory, and toxicological indications.
  2. Perform advanced mammalian cell culture, including primary cells, stem cells, and co-culture systems, with multicellular organoid assembly experience preferred, maintaining strong experimental rigor and reproducibility throughout.
  3. Design and standardize reproducible protocols for 3D organoid model generation, maintenance, maturation, differentiation, cryopreservation, recovery, and quality control, demonstrating strong command of tissue engineering principles.
  4. Design, execute, and optimize functional assays evaluating viability, metabolism, DMPK studies, tissue-specific function, biomarker expression, and therapeutic response.
  5. Working proficiency in techniques such as RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western blotting, ICC, IF, and flow cytometry, along with histology pipelines for tissue characterization, is required.
  6. Expertise in fluorescence and confocal microscopy with quantitative image analysis to characterize structural and functional readouts of 3D organoid  models; exposure to high-content imaging and automated image analysis is a plus.
  7. Design experiments independently, analyze complex biological datasets, and interpret results, with solid grounding in experimental design, statistical analysis, and scientific data interpretation. Ability to prepare publication-quality figures, technical reports, and presentations is essential.
  8. Contribute to mechanism-of-action studies by integrating molecular, functional, and phenotypic datasets, and develop, optimize, and validate novel assays and workflows that enhance the reproducibility, throughput, and translational relevance of organoid-based models; experience in biomarker identification, selection, and validation is preferred
  9. Maintain comprehensive scientific documentation, including lab notebooks, SOPs, protocols, and validation reports, in compliance with internal quality systems.
  10. Support scientific publications, IP generation, grant proposals, and external collaborations through data generation, analysis, and scientific writing; publication or patent experience is a plus.
  11. Collaborate effectively across biology, bioengineering, translational research, computational biology, and process development to drive project objectives, with strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary research environment.
